Purpose and Objective

A Go-Around is used by pilots if something is not right during a maneuver. We terminate the current maneuver being performed and transition to safe, climbing, forward flight.

Maneuver

  1. When the need for a go-around is identified by a pilot.

  2. Raise collective to 5 min takeoff power and initiate a climb.

  3. Announce “Going around.”

  4. Once clear of obstacles, apply forward cyclic to achieve 53 KTS or best rate of climb.
